Not to draw attention or anything...BTW are there any other psychiatrists here?
I'll skip over the melodrama. Of couse I'm saddened and disappointed. He was a?hero of mine. Basically, I wanted to be him, or so I thought.
I want to know why he did it.
We know he had a fascination with infinity. Maybe this was an experiment of his to experience that.
Maybe he relapsed on drugs/alcohol and had a major neurochemical disruption (unfortunately, I fear this may be the most likely occurrence).
I would prefer that it was fully calculated.
Thank you everyone for the links and the pieces that are being dug up.
I loved his work for many reasons. Not only could I personally identify with him (I am close to his age, from the midwest, love math, and play tennis), but he also wrote the most savagely accurate portrayals of addiction and depression I have ever read, without a doubt.
