HEAVY RAIN

There’s a heavy rain falling from the sky tonight,
Eroding the shroud of my memory.
I’ve been expecting the floods,
And I pray for baptism.

The thick air drapes around my skin tonight,
Choked with the whispers of my ancestors.
I am defendant to their secrecy,
I cannot lift the judgment stone,
And I drown.

The rich mud sucks me at her breast tonight,
Filling my mouth as I dare to speak.
The torrid laughter of souvenir ghosts
Plays witness to expectant failure.
And I drown.

I’m screaming Father, screaming Mother,
Can’t you hear?
I manifest your disappointment, lost in this heavy rain.

Listen to the voice calling on the wind…
Hollow echo voice beckoning to me…
Drown me heavy rain.
