NAME THE REMAINDER

I see you smile in the Grace of God, so enraptured in your beauty.
How could you leave me longing for compassion?
Was my hand too gentle for support?
I see you smile in the Grace of God, so enraptured in your beauty.
How could you leave me standing in your shadow?
How could you leave me here so weak?

And the way that we speak isn’t always kind;
The way that we love isn’t always right;
The way that we hold onto belief:
Greed—such greed.

I see the Heavens shamed by your untruth: beauty fooled Their vanity.
I am fearing for your gentle heart now.
Was the cost of living so steep?
I see the Heavens shamed by your lie; eclipsed by Vanity the angels shake.
I cannot shelter you from Judgment.
Did you know the Wrath would be so great?

And the way that we speak isn’t always kind;
The way that we love isn’t always right;
The way that we hold onto belief:
Greed—such greed.
And I hurt, and I cut, and I bleed once again.

I see you falling from the Grace of God; broken wings will never stop your fall.
Have you learned the price of humility?
Sinners would not beg to wash your feet.

And the way that we speak isn’t always kind;
The way that we love isn’t always right;
The way that we hold onto belief:
Greed—such greed.
And I hurt, and I cut, and I bleed once again.
