Try sending "subscribe pynchon-l" to waste@omitted. I don't drink any caffeinated, carbonated, lactated, fermented, or otherwise diablerated beverage. I got out of jail on Friday. People sometimes dream that I'm impervious to cold. Contrary to rumors, I have no post horn tattoos. Oxymoron Pynchon-l list owner -- "Love the dolphins," she advised him. I found out that there are cron jobs running one is makewhatis, other one is updatedb and the another one I dont know. Because of this, one fine day, I was out of diskspace. There was a big file sitting at /var/spool/mail/root.. Why are these cron jobs required? Is it OK if I go ahead and delete!! THANKS THE ANARCHIST TERRRIOST FEDERATION ------------------------------------------------------------------------ From: [deleted] To: management@omitted Subject: hello! :) Hello! I was wondering how I could get a homepage at waste.org? My name is xxxxxxxx and I'm 17 years old, I live in Sweden and I belong to a swedish subculture, called Synthare(the closest that you can get, is the rivetheadculture, but this one is older). I hate mainstreamtrashmusic as puff daddy, aqua, monica&brandy, sash, etc... Because this is the music that I like: Synth like such acts as Kraftwerk, Synthpop like such acts as Depeche Mode, EBM like such acts as Front 242, a bit Industrial like such acts as Skinny Puppy, and maybe one or two technotunes! :) I like to dress in dark clothes. Why? Because I'm kind of shy and depressive person. I just happen to like those colours. It makes me to look good! :) Why I Became a Synthare? I didn't become one, I was one all the time, it was just that I hadn't discovered it yet that _I_ was a Synthare. I had been listening to synthmusic since early age, I had always haved short short hair, and I had always liked old computergames as tetris, and old computers like c-64 or/and atari's and amiga's<--(although strangely I had never had such ones). And my clothing had always been very normal, no clownstyle, no hip-hop, no technostyle, no hardrockstyle at all. No, not at all! I think it was one day when I had been surfing the net looking for ebm or synthpop musicfiles, that I first encountered the noun "Synthare". I started reading about it/them, and everything seemed to match with me, everything just fit in. It was then, when it stroke me! "Aha! You are a Synthare, you have always been/you are a such one!" Synthare is probably the oldest electronicrelated subculture in the world. It started out in Sweden in the mid-late 70's when there were such bands as Kraftwerk, Can, Tangerine Dreams, Cabaret Voltaire, Suicide, DAF, Eintürzende Neubaten, Human League and so on.. At the same time the computers were making their big breakthrough also. There were teenagers in those days who liked these two combinations: Synthmusic&Computers. These teenagers started seeing that they didn't fit in the common youthculture where EVERYBODY liked bands as The Eagles, The Bee Gees, Gloria Gaynor, etc.. And the fashion in those days was so "flowery" and yucky!! :( eeeewwww... These teenagers found that they didn't like all that crappy clothing, no! They found instead that they were more attracted to dark/black clothes. And people's hairdoos at that time was so hippyinfluenced, like long hair. These synthmusic-computer-blackclothes-crazy teenagers didn't like at all that style, so they started having short hair. That was a brief description of Synthare. A Typical Synthare... ...Likes Synthmusic(Synth and/or Synthpop and/or EBM and/or Industrial) ...Likes to go dressed in dark clothes, usually in black. ...Adores Computers(and computing), specially old vintagecomputers. ...Has short hair, and the hair stands usually straight up also(like the punks). !!/( ( ''> I / These are the most common attributes for real Synthare. Because when it comes to politics/Religion, it is divided. Because there are Synthare who are conservative, and there are Synthare who are Communists. There are Synthare who are religious, and there are others who aren't. How to pronounce the word Synthare? Answer: Süntareh Well, Cheers! :) NP: Front 242 "Headhunter" ------------------------------------------------------------------------ From: xxxxxxxx@aol.com To: mime@omitted Subject: I would like to get mime protocol Hi, I'm interested in getting mime interface protocol for my e-mail for the use with America Online. We've also got a few copies of GTE's Uptown Directory. We'll sell you any of them for $50 each plus shipping (they're kindof heavy). > please enlist me on your all mailing lists.
