If you're halfway through, it's easy, you're at the apogee ... just         
 close your eyes and f a l l. When I read this amazing trajectory when       
 it was first published, I was convinced that part of it's design was        
 to make it unfilmable ... the ending convinced me I was right. Did anyone   
 out there actually see Prof. Irwin Corey accept the National Book award ford
 for Pynchon, in his patented doubletalk?
