|a friend about a year ago and loved it. However, looking back on it,
|it didn't really seem all that "pynchonesqe" to me. But, since I work
|at a library, I'm going to go pick the book up and browse thru it
|to look again.

Yeah, the only Pynchon-ish thing about it for me was its exaggeration of 
popular culture, TV, shopping malls, suburban skateboard punks, etc. -- much 
like _Vineland_.  But these are pretty common motifs in the cyberpunk SF 
genre, so why have so many reviewers picked on this particular cyber-SF book 
as "Pynchon-esque"?
