OK, this is what I remember from the show. John Hemmingway (is that his
name on the show?) is a big fan of Thomas Pynchon and Gravity's Rainbow
(actually, so is John Larquette which is why this got into the show).
The lunch counter guy (don't remember his name off the top of my
head, I shall refer to him as LCG) says that he is a friend of TP after
he quotes from the book (cannot remember what quote, something against
technology). JH does not believe that LCG knows him and concocts a
plot of LCG against him. At the end of the show, LCG says that TP
was here and he signed JH's first edition GR book with a quip and
a bite and the TP gave LCG a sweatshirt. I know this is very vauge,
but it is finals week and I am bushed...
Noah
is shocked and thinks this is another ploy to tease him. LCG
