Pynchon and Cybernetics

Regarding Greg's inquiry below about sources for cybernetics and
literature, one of my profs from undergrad days was interested in this
topic and has a couple of books which touch on these areas. His name
is Thomas Leclair and the two books I can remember of his are _The Art
of Excess_ and _In The Loop_. The Art of Ex. examines six or seven
"excessive" works of literature, including GR as the jumping off
point (kind of epitomizes an excess of mastery). In the Loop examines
the novels of DeLillo. He may have others since I last saw him.

Best,
Bill Konrad
