"Out of Control" is indeed a seminal book. Kelly came out here to
Aptos, site of the _real_ "Vineland," in my opinion, to interview me
for that book.

Yes, I'm the person he opens his chapter on "E-Money" with:

"In Tim May's eyes a digital tape is a weapon as potent and subversive
as a shoulder-mounted Stinger missile." (Etc. On anonymous digital
cash, untraceable markets, etc.)

While a Stinger is not a V-2, it's the great grandchild by way of
Werner.

By the way, Kelly is a Pynchon fan and had heard about Pynchon once
living in this area. (He knew what the "W.A.S.T.E." in my sig referred
to.)
