movie thread: a tangent

I hope everyone saw the wonderful article in Monday's NY TIMES
about the open casting call for an actress to play Lolita
in the new version of the movie (Nabokov's mentoring of
Pynchon being my only excuse for mentioning it here).  The
director, natch, is none other than the fellow who did 
FLASHDANCE and 9-1/2 WEEKS, further proof, should any be 
necessary, of how lucky Pynchon has been in being ignored by
Hollywood!
