3 types of people

Don Larson recognizes three types of people (although I suspect
there are plenty he wouldn't recommend Pynchon to at all).

There are also three types of students:  those you wouldn't bother
trying to teach _Lot 49_ (or any other P novel) to; those you might
try _Lot 49_ or _Vineland_ with; and a very few you might try
_V._ or _GV_ on.

As someone who had qualified success teaching _Lot 49_ to public
affairs students, I wonder i;f anyone has had success teaching any
of the others.

A colleague of mine a small school in Texas once tried to teach
_V._ during a summer semester.  You can guess the results.
