Gift Ideas?

This post is only distantly related to Pynchon but I am really desperate
so...

I just finished a year long senior thesis on Pynchon (_GR_). My adviser gave
me a lot of his time and attention from a quite busy schedule. He is a really
great person and good professor, and I want give him a gift to express my
appreciation.

I don't know what kinds of gifts are appropriate in the situation. I was
wondering if anyone has some ideas, especially the academics out there. I
know its kind of crummy to 1)post this, and 2) canvas for gift ideas, but
I've been loses sleep over it for weeks and have yet to think of something
good (aside from the dream of a first printing signed by the Man himself).

So, if something strikes you, please (I don't know the emoticon for pitiable
exhortation) please mail me.  Thanks
