Anyone who publicly declares Gaddis second rate, and then "imagines" him
slappin' himself on the back after writing cute sentences in JR, ain't
reading the same words I am. Nor did we go to the same school of psycho-(or
should I say psychic--unless, perchance, Gaddis made some home movies of
said act, which have somehow slipped out into the anti-Gaddis underground?)

Admittedly,  my life has been dominated by unabashed Laingians, who give me
nearly free reign up here on the 9th Floor (all the inmates handled by the
Freudians are kept on ground level--never know when one of Them might
decide to "de-"fenestrate).  But nonetheless...
