Bonnie retires from Gaddis-bashing:
>Urgh. Could this please stop? I speak of The Situation regarding this

Yes, one must be _so_ careful these days where one chooses to flail
opinion. It can grate quite harshly against the grain of the normative
consciousness.
A-and I, for one, will be quite happy to let you drop "out of this one."
However, it must be stated that you attacked not only Gaddis's writing
(which is quite fair game), but also cast most unseemly aspersions upon the
man's character (also legitimate, in my book), & slapped me across the face
as an ED Hirsch (again, quite within the bounds of permitted discourse),
which, where I come from, is about as bad as calling someone trapped in
Idaho a Leon Trotsky.
Then when one rises to the defense of one's honor, and the honor of those
one loves (ie, WG), thou retires with a most self-serving exuent, leaving
the impression that you are (like Thomas Hobbes) far above the petty
flailings of preterite opinion--as if your defamations were demonstrable
scientific FACTS. That is the essence of technoheadism.
