Anniversaries

While we wait for Enola Gay Day (and how come no one here has jumped into 
the current Should We Have Dropped It hoorah?), let me note that we also
missed the July 27 anniversary of the night in Thermidor (201 years ago),
when Robbespierre, St. Juste and the Jacobins were ousted and executed,
ending the Reign of Terror but instituting a reactionary period that 
ultimately resulted in the triumph of Napoleon.
