It wasn't until rereading that section that I remembered reading a while ago 
that pictures of mushroom clouds were not declassified and publically available 
until years after the war.  It was in some article about how they had to fake it 
based on witness descriptions for a science fiction movie -- they ended up 
dumping an opaque liquid into a clear liquid and filming it in profile upside-
down.

Is this nit correct or did I dream it?
