With the recent reflections and remorse of the Aug 6 bombing of Japan
plus 50 years. Japan at the time had it's own A-Bomb program .
REF "Japan's Secret War" 1985 R.Wilcox& New Scientist 09-JULY-95 page 4 .
They had already made Uranium Hexafluoride gas and were planning a
cyclotron but were hampered by a lack of steel.
They had also shipped much of the research equipment to Hungnam, North
Korea in 1945. who knows what because much of the records were destroyed
at the wars end This area is rich with Uranium deposits. The Imperial
Japanese army had discussed using the new weapons to reclaim Saipan. No
thought of the terror, but just the race to finish it, but failing for a
lack better equipment. Where would our peace memorials be? A.S. Chesnick
