I've been invited to generate and read a paper at a conference, both real 
and virtual, called "King Ludd and the Resistance to Technology."  So 
naturally, I'm going to work with the PYnchon piece.  I'm not quite sure 
what I'll say, as yet.  But I'm glad it's the topic of late, here.  
You're giving me a lot to think about.

Any suggestions--brief and comprehensive enough that I won't have to 
worry about plagiarism--will be appreciated.
