Orpheus Theatre

Any Los Angeles residents out there who know what part of town the 
"Orpheus" theatre _is_ or _was_ in? (It's the place featured in the closing
section of GR--where the rocket may have been headed.) Or, is the theatre
possibly mythic, like O. himself?

Though I spent a good portion of my teen years in L.A. theatres,
the closest I remember to "Orpheus" was the huge "Orpheum" on S. Broadway
(I think), just south of Lowe's State, but on the other side of the street.
There you would often get to see not only a movie (or two), but hear a big
band--Gene Krupa, Harry James, or the like--for the price of one ticket.

Would really love to know. If it's all explained in the text somewhere,
I apologize.
