In case you missed this last summer, from Weird News, published in the Kansas
City Star, 8/4/94 (probably among other papers):

"Hanging on an 18-inch cord from the ceiling of the main firehouse in
Livermore, Calif., is a light bulb that's been there since 1901. Except for
during power outages, it's been burning steadily for 93 years. Experts from
the Guinness Book of World Records, "Ripley's Believe It Or Note," and
General Electric call it the longest burning bulb in history."

Pay particular attention to the fact that GE is listed here. Could this be
THE
BULB?
