One of the games in the Falcon bar after the Warwick conference was
inventing a `syllabus from hell' for an undergraduate course on the
novel. The final list was Don Quixote, Tristram Shandy, Moby Dick,
Ulysses and Gravity's Rainbow. I guess if you wanted to squeeze a 6th
one on the list it would probably have to be `The Recognitions' or
possibly `JR'. Of course that would require extending the course to 12
weeks instead of 10.
