Flatness

Among the other dualities in V. is the harmonic motion
curve. To me, Stencil represents a past of high
intellectual activity (potential energy) but little
kinetic energy (it's almost miraculous how often those
impending disasters are averted). Profane & the Crew
represent a present of now intellectual activity,
but a high level of kinesis. Both situations call
for a certain amount of flatness that the writing reflects.
BTW - part of my dissertation deals with harmonic motion throughout
Pynchon's work, but have found remarkably little on the
subject, even in V. where it seems to be discussed outright.
Anyone who can recommned some good articles I might have
missed on this subject (or structuring shapes in TP in
genral, though I've found more of those), please forward
suggestions to me.
