Hhhhhhhmmmmmmmm
Just to backtrack a little, folks: 'But how is it that we are each visited
as individuals, each by exactly and only what he needs? Doesn't that imply
a switching-path of some kind? a bureaucracy?'
Dreams are only one avenue. As TP knows, the western esoteric tradition has
always maintained that the Tarot is another such switching-path, which is
why learning to read tends to be part of most standard initiation packages.
And of course the Golden Dawn encourage inititiates to paint their own
deck. (Come in, Mr Yeats, your time is up!)
In passing, for the Koop-man, we're now talking 256 glorious computer
colours; none of that B&W crap...
Pynchon's use of Tarot symbolism, and particularly the symbolism of the
major arcana, in GR is as amazing and as complex as the rest of the book.
