Books other than those of TRP appear in this "discourse" from time to time,
which I'm sure many of us have added to our reading list. Some have risen up
in the sci-fi category, which is one I've done little reading in for sometime
now.

So, I read "Snow Crash," by Neal Stephenson. Fun with names/words. Would have
made a far better movie than Johnny Mnemonic. Interesting stuff regarding
language, control/oppression, cyberspace, etc.

I'm reading "The California Trilogy," by Kim Stanley Robinson. Not quite sure
yet why Gold Coast was recommended several times, but I'm not done yet.

Haven't been able to find one which I think was called "Arc d'X," by Steve
Erickson. Have I got this right?

Aside: The University of Nebraska Press was planning to reprint "Warlock," by
Oakley Hall in 1995, but has delayed it to '96. Maybe a letter writing
campaign would confirm interest in the book. Although from the sounds of a
few comments here, Pynchon's recommendation may be suspect.

Regarding these books, none has come close to the substance/depth of TRP. But
then that's why we're here. Any other summer weight recommendations?
