Siegel's Playboy article mentions a remark by Pynchon to the effect
that Nabokov's Russian accent was so thick that it was almost impossible
to understand him. Ms. Nabokov's recollection may be found in Alfred
Appel's "An Interview with Vladimir Nabokov," Wisconsin Studies in
Contemporary Literature, Spring 1967.

Kaotic Kodetta: Barth's new book should be released in August by Little,
Brown and Company for $27.95 US.
