My Dutch isn't what it used to be (and guess what it used to be!), but I know
I've seen that spelling of Katje in other contexts--comic strips come to mind,
for some reason the execrable DONDI, which I think had a character by that name.

I always assumed that it was pronounced "Khat-yuh" but I'll defer to the
people of the polders.
