I don't want to pick on LOT64, as I've liked some of his stuff. But
I've noticed a trend toward imitating, consciously or not, the "use
several words when one is enough" style of pedantic writing.

Your mileage may vary. I found "koopman" to have a zero
signal-to-noise ratio, but enjoyed much of what Bonnie Surfus wrote.
Go figure.

(This post here is by no means the best example of this stilted,
pseuo-academic style, but for some reason I feel like using it to make
this point. Apologies to LOT64.)
