Veruca Salt are named after a character in Roald Dahl's
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. No Pynchon connection here.
Their album AMERICAN THIGHS is pretty neat, however.
I think someone was making a list of groups that were definately
named after Pynchon characters. The only one I can think of offhand
is Benny Profane. Their music didn't sound very Pynchonesque to me,
though. There was also a group called The Paranoids, but that
might just be co-incidence. (If there is such a thing as "co-incidence"...)
