	After F. Scott Fitzgerald praised MADAME BOVARY for the economy of
its prose, Thomas Wolfe wrote back:  "Flaubert me no Flauberts! 
SHAKESPEARE was a putter-inner!  RABELAIS was a putter-inner!"
	As for Veruca Salt and their unpynchonian V, Mark Robberds should 
hunt down a copy of CERMONIAL, a recording that Savage Republic made in 
the mid-80s.  The last song on side one contains a few lines of the 
closing hymn from GRAVITY'S RAINBOW.
