Stay cool, but care

Folks,
 
I'm in one of those irritating situations where I can't find a certain 
passage despite my best attempts.

"Stay cool, but care" appears either in V. or Vineland (strange that I 
can't get even that much straight, I know...) and I can't find it.  I've 
seen the phrase quoted in a bunch of articles, and I can't even find one 
of those.  If anyone can give me a clue, I'd be eternally grateful and 
what not and so on.
