Pynchon's title in legal limbo

It might be--and I'm not sure--that titles are an issue of 
trademarking rather than copyright-ing.  Since they are identifiers 
of a "product"--the book, or work--just like "snickers" is a 
trademarked title for a product, and the author or publisher has a 
right to protect the product from being confused with another product
...but across disciplines probably makes it a moot point (one could 
probably call a television model the Panasonic "Accord" since no one 
would ever confuse the television with Honda's automobile...just a 
guess...
