Is it that Pynchon makes a big deal of being a recluse, or is it simply
that we do?
BTW, for those of you who listened to all my Pynchon/Roky Erikson
ranting, Casey Monahan, Erikson's ersatz "manager" invited me to Austin
next week for the release of "All that May do My Rhyme," Roky's first
album in many years. Also being released in Henry Rollins' 6.13.21
publications' "Openers II," a book of famous liner notes--and yes, I
believe Pynchon's "Spike!" is in there too. I may have to go meet the
legend and size up my original opinion. Maybe I could even ask about the
acquaintance I strongly suspect. We'll see.
