Beg to differ about Mr. Ishmael Reed. _Mumbo Jumbo_ is a stunning novel, every bit as major as GR, _Satanic Verses_, _The Public Burning_, or _Foucault's Pendulum_, several books that resemble it. So says I, anyway. Stuart p.s. I also like M.F. Beal.
