Maybe you should sleep, but you might also consider that the point you make is 
a bit Jungian in its application of the dissolution of self which is part of 
the process of individuation and the acceptance of the shadow.  But GR seems to 
be going a lot more than this, except that one might make a bit of an alanalogy 
between the shadow self and all the binary elements of the piece.
