Speaking of WWII as a nation vs. nation or ideology vs. ideology struggle
that was only cloaking corporate manipulation of us by Them, I came across
an interesting anecdote that backs up some of the contentions of GR. I was
told this by an employee of GE and cannot vouch for its accuracy. I tried to
check it by looking in several local libraries but could not find one history
book about the General Electric Company. General Electric bought the rights
to sell tungsten carbide, a by-product of the tungsten developed by AEG to
use as lightbulb filaments, in the early 20's. Carbide is a very dense,
heavy metal (not in the radioactive sense) that is used in machining to cut
other metals. During WWII, GE at the government's request, developed armor
piercing shells to blow up German Panzer tanks. The indispensable ingredient
of the shells was the carbide tip of the bullet. This was the only material
that could penetrate the Panzer's armor. For each shell GE manufactured and
delivered to the US Army to blow up German tanks, they paid their standard
royalty to Krupp Widia, for their use of carbide, which was licensed to them
from AEG through Krupp. The money was held in escrow since it couldn't be
transferred till after the war. The US government, upon learning of this
escrow fund promptly sued GE for trading with the enemy. The case was
settled out of court for big bucks. The government probably got some extra
discounts on GE made ICBMs, anyway. But in any case, it was business as
usual. The multinationals even as early as the 40's saw themselves as being
beyond the nation-state. Its all a bit too ironic.

ps: If anyone know of a good history of GE, please pass on the name.
