Good to hear from Stuart Moulthrop. But wait a minute! Don't disagree
w/ me, Stuart. Save your displeasure for (for example) the Appelate
Courts who have handed down these rulings . . . of which I've only
given lame layman's summaries. Again, I'm just as unhappy about the
blockading of information-flows as you are . . . .

Note however, that reactionary calls for maintaining the status
quo in intellectual property rights are coming from groups like the
NWU (National Writers' Union), not only from publishers. And note
too that despite all those things his characters 'n' narrators say
in texts like GR or VINELAND, our Mr. P has in every instance that I
know about acted to exclusively reserve his proprietary rights
over the things he's written.

>From the get-go my message has been simple: Please, out of
negligence or stubbornness or romantic revolutionary fantasies or
whatever, don't post stuff that puts OTHER people in legal
jeopardy. Is there a problem with such an ethics?
