The SF world can boast of Thomas Disch's THE PRESSURE OF TIME,
priomised for 20+ years, and Harlan Ellison's notorious
anthology THE LAST DANGEROUS VISIONS, equally old.  In the case
of the latter, all the stories are ready, it's "merely" the
surrounding prefatory materieal that's supposedly holding
things up.
