Another decade, another book?

Hi

I'm from Cape Town, South Africa, and just joined this list. I 
probably missed the point of this discussion, but thought I'd comment 
on the following.

Quantum Theory - In Gravity's Rainbow, with uncertainty and 
statistics occupying such a central position, Quantum Theory seems to 
me ever-present.
Chaos - As a scientific 'theory ', chaos only emerged in the early 
seventies, but the problems giving rise to it had been around for a 
while. I think that GR deals with these in a covert manner. Anyway, 
the current obsession with chaos theory seems to be waning - maybe 
Pynchon isn't interested in its mostly silly cult status. Now 
Superstrings, on the other hand....
