Gödel - see Lyotard's "The Postmodern Condition" - it makes the 
connection between postmodernity and 'postmodern science' (quite 
well, up to his conclusion)
AI - try J David Bolter's "Turing's Man" published (I think) in 1984, 
it reads as if could have come straight out of GR
