Man! That BELLE DE JOUR! What a pretentious, overly-"French" piece of
imitative fancy. The X rated "The Story of O" worked much better, and
although I'm not sure of the time of release, I'd be willing to bet that
Bunuel knew of this work (although people like to fall down praising his
"originality," I know.) CAtherine Deneuve can't act, either.
Sorry. I usually don't like to just get on here and rave with my
opinion. Acutally, I'm wondering about your response to the film, that
is, beyond the notion of influence on TRP.
