Movie? We don't need. . .

I'm perplexed by the ongoing devotion to GR: The Movie. Given the study and
discussion here and elsewhere, I see the film idea as limiting the vast
nature of the book. One movie, two movies, a mini-series, a tv series; would
any of these suffice? BUT, this is the time for GR: The Game Show. Hey! One
false spin and you're in the Zone--one true spin and you're in the Zone.
P'haps like Firesign's "Beat the Reaper"--but more sinister (we don't stop
at disease here). I see a truly unctuous MC (Werner Klemperer as Col. Klink)
aided by a female companion in lederhosen (Claudia Schiffer alternating with
Sandra Bernhard?) who'll spin the contestants. The possibilities (like GR)
might be endless. And with the advent of 500 channel TV, the show could
diversify, different versions available to different groups (the Nickelodeon
version, the Playboy Chan. version, etc.), each spin describing new arcs,
new spins (and spinoffs)--consider the merchandising; is Michael Eisner lis-
  tening?
