OUT-T-E-D!!

IS THERE NO HONOR AMONG PLAGARISTS (see Chris. Hitchens' lovely defense of
this time-honored tradition in this month's VF), THIEVES, AND PETTY
LITERARY
VOYUERS?

If you must know: the Village Voice piece (on the White Visitation) ran
last June and July in two long installments, dim-wittedly titled: This Land
is MY Land.

The co-author was the VV's longtime political columnist James Ridgeway, who
intense book and film, Blood in the Face, will
tell you more about the New Aryan/Christian Identity/Militia Movement
than you'll ever want to know--but, of course, aren't entirely safe not
knowing, either. BtW, Ridgeway's ongoing coverage of the
OK City Bombing trial--in the Voice (which, it must be said, contained in a
recent VLS vivid proof of DF Wallace's literary shortcomings: in a
distended and distractedly footnoted review of--of all dead Russky
Writers--Fred Dostoevski he actually used the word "frisson" in the first
fuckin' sentence...imagine that!)--is a masterpiece of conspiracy theory.

My mate Al Cockburn and I just finished two pieces--if you really want
to read the words that put the cous-cous on the table out here in mushy
Oregon--A) the cover story of the May issue of the Progressive, titled
SLIME GREEN: Clinton and the Environment. Henrik Drescher's cover collage
is worth the meager price alone. And B) the latest edition of the Nation (spring
books issue--edited by that nasty John Leonard) which contains an essay
we wrote titled: Hit Piece: the Press, Earth First!, the FBI, and the Unabomber
(or Unabomer--as Newsweek spells it in a truly awful piece of drivel by
that fake new journalist (and, speaking of outing, probable author of the
barely titallating Primary Colors)...Joe Klein).

It's the least you can do for this out-RAY-jesus violation of my privacy.

BtW: Cockburn is writing a weekly press crit. column in the NY Press (the
same paper that published Mr. Hollander's fine article on Wanda and Tommy
R.P.). Check it out...it's FREE!
