Not to mention the Red Hot Chili Peppers' '91 hit simply entitled "Under
The Bridge."  This song is set in L.A. and is permeated by a sense of
isolation ("The City of Angels/Lonely as I am/Together we cry"), addiction
("Under the bridge downtown/I could not get enough") and irrevocable loss 
("Under the bridge downtown/I gave my life away").  Cheery themes all.
