Infinite heliotropism

one more on the heliotropic tip.
i heard long ago that the title of the rumored new book was "pandemonium 
of the sun"
underscores the two battling threads in pynchons work. 1) obsession with 
all types of systems, the broader the better. the archetype of all order 
of course is the solar logos, hence heliotropism. 2) fear and resentment 
of all things orderly (governments, time, identity, physical law and 
anything to do with causality).
the two strands always fight with each other and mirror each other like 
the life-world and the clockwork world we find described in V. 
P'r'aps Pynchon is pissed because he keeps getting caught right in the 
middle: seeing the clockwork behind it all but still a ghost distinct 
from the machine with a will that can never submit in good faith to the 
causal stuctures that give it shape, but are always distinct from the 
self and the will.
