A few weeks ago, discussion centered around big books, as it has before on
the list. In one, a comment was made about lurking down the aisles of Barnes
& Noble.
Thought I'd pass along that B&N has driven one of Kansas City's truly noble
book stores out of business, "Whistler's Books."
Let us not forget the little guys who stocked GR and Crying of Lot 49 and
more when you'd never find them at the ignoble B.Dalton's/Waldenbooks of the
world.
The big get bigger and if they get big enough, the big books will only be
small. And we might not have the ones to read that only we'll read.
