Maybe an answer would be for individuals everywhere to maintain lists 
focussing on local  or specific 'news' not covered by Reuters etc. A 
little bit like now, only more so. Although someone would then make a 
fortune developing an appropriate search engine, get listed on the 
stock exchange, taken over by Bill Gates, etc etc. And talk about an 
elitist medium - the computer literate seemingly slipping through 
Their info nets, imagining themselves 'free' while typing away 
instead of burning something, the preterite, even worse, dancing to Their 
beat.... (gotta getta a grip on that absolutism, gotta, gotta).
