Sorry to prick your bubble with this thought but what about Blicero as
Slothrop's successor - Marvy being a tanist, offered in Slothrop's
stead but only delaying Slothrop's eventual dismemberment. Thinking
here of Blicero's Tarot which grants him the future (recall the
two-headed deity which presides over the December ritual one head
facing the past, the other the future) and advises you to search for
him in the boardrooms of America. Weiss-man? A Plutocrat king?
Disappearing into the West, the land of the setting sun?
