GM Trolley-cide

     Not to trivialize the subject, but the backstory of Roger Rabbit film 
     of a few years ago deals with the shutting down of the LA trolley 
     system in favor of cars and buses.  Running a freeway through Toontown 
     or something.

My god, good old *Ramparts*, haven't seen one in decades. One of my 
first
"radical" experiences care of my sister who brought the home from 
Chicago
(couldn't get it in stuffy old Kalamazoo). I will have to see if I can 
find
this article.
