I have read several messages in the archives and in the active list 
during the

last few months regarding a new book from our man, a novel about the 
Civil War

or the Mason/Dixon line to come out early next year.  Anybody with an 
update on

that?

Jeff--we're all waiting, New Yorker recently reported TRP's next book 
should be published in Spring of 1997.  In his interview with the band 
Lotion in Esquire Pynchon wouldn't tell the publishers what his next book 
is about he being superstitious, but he is working on it.  So we must 
wait out one more fall and winter.
