Foo. I'm not interested in encouraging discussion of Paglia in a forum
supposedly devoted to things relevant to the writings of Thomas Pynchon.
Camille Paglia is a university professor, tenured, I believe. She
publishes articles and books. She gets to address classrooms full of
eager students. She gets grants. She gets interviewed. She gets on TV.
My calling her an asshole in a Net discussion does not squelch her.
Molly Ivins calling her that in a syndicated column doesn't squelch her
either. Nobody on this list seems to be the least bit inhibited by my
"squelch," and I hereby PERSONALLY INVITE anyone who thinks Paglia's
arguments are of interest in this forum to state a few of them for our
education. I say again, foo, not to mention jeez.

Cheers,
David
